AEV comprehends different levels of learning. We are formed by two basic and secondary schools, Escola Básica e Secundária de Vilela and Escola Básica e Secundária de Rebordosa, two schools centers with the 1st cycle of education and 2 more small schools with kindergarden and 1st basic grade of education. Basic and secondary are compulsory. At the secondary level (High Education) we provide general and professional courses for youth learners such as ICT, Photography, Sport management, Social Services, among others. It is located in semirural area, approximately 30 km from Oporto. About 2.400 students attend our schools and the majority, 1.600 do so on a basic level. We also have around 200 teachers from all areas of expertise, 15 secretary assistants and 45 operational assistants.

The AEV competed and obtained the distinction of "Etwinning School" for the biennium 2018-2020. The obtained distinction certifies that we are pioneers and leaders in:

• Digital practices

• eSafety Practices

• Innovative and creative pedagogical approaches

• Promotion of continuing professional development of teachers

• Promotion of collaborative learning practices between teachers and students

This distinction comes in recognition of the individual work of teachers and students in European projects and the work developed at school level, evaluating the involvement, commitment and dedication not only of some dispersed eTwinners but of teams of teachers and leaders of this school.

We have participated in a lot of European projects - so we are used to implement and manage activities and European projects, as well - and our students are on the target group of this project.

We have a lot of experience in managing and implementing successful European projects. Some of them have been developed around environmental themes (of climate change, protection of rivers, ...)

This approach to STEM in real life is interesting to us and we would like to participate and contribute to the success of this project.

Albino Pereira - the Headmaster, Master in school planning, specialized in benchmarking and organization skills.Teacher trainer for teachers and staff. He has good connections with the Local Municipality/Community (cooperation and partnership within European projects). Good practices in managing international exchange programs. He speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.

Mrs. Maria Manuel Guedes - an assistant to the headmaster, she is a Teacher of physics and chemistry. She coordinates many actors to achieve the objectives of educational success, and she is a teacher trainer for teachers and staff. She speaks English fluently.

Mrs. Cristina Calvão - Biology teacher -Project coordinator. She is an experienced teacher in dealing with mobilities, exchanges of students and visits. Experienced with Health and Care projects. She speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.
