CRISTINA CALVÃO

Hello, my name is Cristina Calvão and I'm a Biology and Geology teacher at the Vilela school. I coordinate the school's Health Project and I'm the coordinator of the Erasmus + ABC: Climate Be the Change project in Portugal. I consider myself to be someone who is willing to learn and enrich my knowledge by sharing experiences and good practices with other teachers. The Erasmus experience contributes to this scientific and personal enrichment. Contact with new cultures, approaches and ways of solving current problems, such as climate change, allow us to be more efficient and proactive. Together we are stronger!

ANABELA NOGUEIRA

My name's Anabela Nogueira and I teach English at AE Vilela school. It was a pleasure to have been part of this ABClimate change Erasmus project. Actually, I believe Erasmus is a transformative tool/programme that promotes international mobility, cultural exchange and academic collaboration, fostering global citizenship and intercultural competence. Through Erasmus both teachers and students gain invaluable experiences, enhance their personal and professional growth and build a more connected, informed, and cooperative world. This project in particular allowed educators and students to explore this critical global issue, improving language skills and cultivating environmental awareness, which is increasingly important in today's world. It contributed to knowledge sharing, encouraged problem-solving and critical thinking, making them better global citizens.

FERNANDA D´AFONSECA

My name is Fernanda Afonseca, and I teach Portuguese and French to students aged 11–18 at the Escola Básica e Secundária de Vilela. I'm frequently engaged in clubs or projects because I believe they can get students and other members of the school community to develop hard and soft skills, as well as create local, national, or international partnerships.

I really think that Erasmus projects can make a difference in our lives, making us more open-minded, tolerant, well-informed, socially active, and peaceful.

I fluently speak French and English.

In 2022, from June 27th to 30th, I participated in the Erasmus project ABC- ClimA: Be the Change in Velingrad, Bulgaria, with a colleague from Biology and Geology and four students frommy 10th-year class. In this project, I helped my students to prepare their presentation work. We were very well received by the organizing teachers. Students from participating countries showed a little about their culture and customs. Erasmu´s projects are very important for the cultural enrichment of students and teachers, as well as for sharing knowledge on different topics.
